Rest in Peace: Kim Sae Ron Passes Away

Kim Sae Ron passed away on February 16 at the age of 24. According to the police, Seoul Seongdong Police Station received a report around 5 p.m. KST.

A police representative stated, “There were no indications of foul play, such as a break-in, and we are currently investigating the exact details of her passing. We sincerely ask for respect toward the deceased and the grieving family, and we urge everyone to refrain from speculating about the cause and circumstances of her death. We appreciate your understanding that the police cannot disclose further details.” Reports also mentioned that Kim Sae Ron was first found by a friend she had arranged to meet.

Kim Sae Ron began her acting career in 2009 with the film A Brand New Life and gained widespread recognition through The Man from Nowhere. In November 2016, Kim Sae Ron signed with YG Entertainment. In 2018, she starred in the thriller film The Villagers. On November 19, an industry representative stated, ‘Kim Sae Ron’s three-year exclusive contract with YG Entertainment expired this month.’ Her latest project was the 2023 drama Bloodhounds.
